Christmas

Quite a few times in December Andrew asked me if it felt like Christmas.  It could have been that there was no snow, or that we didn't go to a single Christmas party, maybe it was because I refused to listen to lame songs like "Last Christmas" (which is hardly a Christmas song at all), possibly because we did almost all of our shopping online, or maybe because we were so focused on the baby coming, but this year didn't feel like any other Christmas to me.

We spent Christmas just the three of us.  It was really calm and quiet.  We went to church before we opened any of our presents.  We were tired from the lack of sleep the night before.  We opened our presents and Riley stayed awake for all of it without crying.  He just sat in his bouncer chair from Grandma and Grandpa Hatch.  The rest of the day we played games, napped, and talked to our families.  The calmness of it all was great, I loved it.  I was more able to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and family.

  1. A calm, peaceful Christmas? What a crazy idea. I bet it was very nice. And I LOVE this last picture of Riley - he's a Christmas baby!
