Washington D.C. Adventure

Andrew and I went to Washington D.C. the week between when we got to Pittsburgh and when his classes started.  We got to our hotel about 10 minutes after the earthquake (which we didn't feel, because we were driving) and we left Sunday morning just as the hurricane was ending (just a lot of rain and pretty windy).

We went to the Air and Space Museum

Space Shuttle

Pretty Flower

We were going to go inside the Washington Monument, but there were cracks from the earthquake

Me and the White House

Luckily I'm still smaller than a Walrus (at the Natural History Museum)

Andrew and an elephant

Dome at the Capital (Andrew's friend Devin gave us a sweet tour)

More Capital

Library of Congress (but we didn't get to see any books, because of the earthquake)

I have scary hair because it rained all day
Jefferson Memorial

Crazy lady at the Jefferson Memorial with her cardboard dogs

We went and saw the Memorials with Devin and Amber

WWII Memorial
The new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
We had a really fun trip, and we saw a lot of things.

  1. That's some really cool stuff in one short trip! I've been to DC a couple of times, but never at night, so I like those pictures especially.
I notice you didn't comment on Andrew's size comparison to the elephant. That's very kind of you.

  2. Looks like a fun trip - except for the natural disasters getting in the way of your exploring. So when I read the part about the hurricane being "rain and pretty windy" for some reason I read "pretty wind" and was trying to think of how wind could be pretty.
You look very cute pregnant and although it may not always feel like it, I'm positive you will always be much smaller than a walrus.
Hope things in Pittsburgh are going well.

  3. Oh wow, I love your night pictures. I'm glad you were able to take advantage of that little window of opportunity and go see so many great sights.
