Balloon Fiesta 2014

Balloon Fiesta was the beginning of October.  We went down to the park the first Saturday.   It was a perfect morning.

The next weekend we grabbed some donuts and watched from a distance.

Family Day and Santa Fe

A few weeks ago it was Family Day at Andrew's work.  Since you normally need a pretty intense clearance to get in, and Family Day only happens every 5-10 years it was a pretty big deal.  Grandma and Opa Briscoe came with us too.  I liked seeing where Andrew spends 9 hours a day.  

We weren't allowed to have anything electronic at all so the only picture I have is of Riley eating lunch on a rock outside the gate.

We went to Home Depot.  Riley got scared by an animated Halloween decoration so a lady gave him 1,000 balloons.

We went to Santa Fe with Grandma and Opa.

We (actually Andrew) took out all our Pyracantha bushes out.  They have super long spikes, they are the worst.  We are planning on putting in a garden where they were.  This is the massive pile.  We had to rent a truck and trailer from uhaul to take it away.

Tanner thinks he can do whatever he wants now.  He learned how to crawl and walk last week.  His walking needs some more practice, but he thinks he's pretty cool.

Last week was free museum day so we went to the Natural History Museum.

The moving dinosaurs were a little bit terrifying to Riley, he liked them from a distance though.  I think he thought they were going to eat him.

Riley has started playing Candyland with me.  He's pretty good, even though it takes forever for him to take his turns.

We braved the night.  Riley slept great. Tanner not so much.

Our poor child didn't know what a snow cone was.  Now he does.

He did this puzzle by himself. 24 pieces.  He was pretty proud.

Apparently this is what it looks like when the sunrises.  I wake up too early to see it -- some people are not sleeping through the night at our house -- then I sleep through it.

To the average person this looks like a pile of slop, but to a New Mexican, it is a crucial part of every food. Our roasted Hatch Green Chiles.

The boys and I went on a trip to Utah while Andrew had a work trip in Yuma, Arizona.  I wasn't going to stay at home if I didn't have to.  :)  Here we are on the plane.  You are probably thinking that I am so brave to fly with just me and my boys, but it was way easy!  I never want to drive anywhere ever again.

We got to visit one of our friends who spent the summer in Albuquerque.

USU Football game.  Riley loves football and has been asking to go to a game for 6 months.

Then we drove home.  The boys slept most of the way.  YAY!

Riley went to the dentist again.  He was really excited, despite the very nervous look on his face.  He even got x-rays.  He did great and got a cupcake because it was the dentist's birthday.

This guy wants to walk.  I think it will be another few weeks, but he's only 9 months.  Apparently most kids don't walk this early. . .

There is so much fun stuff to do, and we always end up wasting a ton of time with circuits and resistors. I try to make him leave, but he loves it.

One of our favorite parks was closed all summer and just reopened last week.  Yay!
