Tanner

So last week we had a baby.  We named him Tanner Gordon Briscoe.  We love him.  Even though I had to be induced like with Riley, Tanner got here much faster.  Yay for second babies!

Tanner was born December 12th weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces and 21.5 inches long.  He has tons of hair (he kind of needs a haircut) and likes to sleep especially during the day.

Riley loves Tanner and talks to "baby Tanna" all day and shares his toys with him.  He's a pretty cute big brother.  I'm doing good considering I just had a baby.  Andrew's doing good too and is enjoying his time off from work.  He has gone to a few meetings this week, but other than that he should be home until the beginning of the year.

In case you were wondering Riley was 8 pounds 10 ounces and 21 inches long.  Also Riley had dark hair too, but not as much.  It all fell out and grew back blonde.

Due date

Sunday was new baby's due date, it's Wednesday and he's still not here.  No one should have to go past their due date.  I will go in for an induction tomorrow if nothing happens before then.  I feel like it should have by now.  At my appointment last week I was dilated to a 4 and had my membranes swept.  Sorry if that's too much information.  Yesterday I was dilated a little more and had my membranes swept again.  I have also been having contractions every evening for over a week.  They just haven't been very hard and they get weaker and less often around 10:00 at night.  It's kind of weird.

Also everyday he is inside me he gets bigger and bigger, and if he's anything like Riley he doesn't need to get bigger.

I'm not very patient, but I'm trying.  I'm sending Carly, my missionary sister, some quotes for Christmas, because that's what she wants.  And one I found said, "Faith in the Lord includes faith in his timing."  I'm working on it. . .

Hopefully the next post this blog sees is of a happy new baby.  :)

Dinosaur

Here are some more pictures of my little dinosaur, because I spent all that time making the costume.  Also I think he's cute.

This would be him making a dinosaur growl

Trunk or Treat

For Halloween this year we all decided to be dinosaurs.  Our ward trunk or treat was Saturday, we had a great time and Riley got a ton of candy.  He keeps trying to trick or treat to me, but stopped after I gave him a cucumber, apparently vegetables are bad treats.

Sorry he's sideways

We carved pumpkins for FHE last night.  Riley really didn't like the insides of the pumpkins, but he survived.  Riley only wanted happy pumpkins, so these are the ones we did.  Andrew's is the one with teeth.

What's in a Name?

I am no good at naming things. All my stuffed animals were named Lindsay, creative right?  I actually did branch out once and named my guinea pig Kathryn, my middle name.  So either as a child I was terribly conceited, or my ability to think up names was lacking.  I'd like to think the later is true because I'm having that problem again.

With "New Baby" only 7 weeks away from making his presence into the world we are again at a loss at what to name him, and the name Lindsay isn't being considered.  Believe it or not in middle school I didn't write a special list of baby names and lovingly preserved it in my hope chest.   Riley didn't have a name until he was a day old.  Ideally we will have some idea for a name before this next one is born, but who knows.

Now I know what you're thinking, well maybe I don't, but I imagine you are thinking, "I know the perfect name!  I should tell these helpless parents and all their problems will be solved".  Thanks, but no thanks.  We figured out how to get this baby here, we can figure out what to name him.  It might just be a while. . .

Pumpkin "Patch"

We went to a pumpkin "patch" last weekend, but actually it was just a parking lot in the middle of no where.  It was pretty good, I was just expecting better so I was slightly disappointed.  I guess you get what you pay for and this one was free.  Riley had a good time, so I guess that's what matters most.

Cowboy Andrew

Riley loved driving the tractors

More dry corn, his favorite!

Balloon Fiesta

Balloon Fiesta is one probably the greatest thing that happens in Albuquerque.  People come from all over to fly their balloons, or to watch them.  It's nine days long.  We went to the park the first day.  We rode the bus to get there, and that was probably Riley's favorite part of the whole day.  It was so fun!  Also it's a little hard to take bad pictures of hot air balloons.

Riley's favorite balloon
He was tired and slept through the first session of general conference
Riley and I drove over by the park on Friday and saw a lot of balloons.

Andrew and Riley went the second to last day, they didn't see a lot of balloons, but they had fun together

So who wants to visit us next year?
